[DeTomaso] ZF safety wire label

My die cutter that I bought to cut out the logos for my Vitaloni mirrors is
supposed to be able to do light engraving with the purchase of a diamond tip
and the use of thin gauge aluminum sheet. If you are interested I would be
willing to give it a try. If it works we could use the same technique to
fabricate replacement metal plates for body ID tags, Paint tags etc. Let me
know if you are interested and I will find out what my machine needs to do
the engraving. The ZF has a tag that shows the serial # and the gear ratio of
the 5 gears and reverse. I bet we could make a rreplacement tag that had
the gear ratio info, the serial number and then include the safety wire info
and the date of the rebuild and any modification and reattach the aluminum
tag ( The original was pop riveted) we could either replace the whole tag or
just add an addendum. let me know what you think and we can take it from
there.
( My one concern about just selling a tag that somone could just check off
as "done" or "checked" is that some one by unscrupulous could save several
thousand dollars and try to increase the sale price of their car by checking
the "done" box on a saftery wire tag that might be sold. I think an id tag
that would include the name of the person that actually did the work and the
date the work was done and then have it attached and sealed (like they do
with tractor trailer trucks or other secure cargo) people would be less
inclined to lie if the person that did the work would be signing off on
their claim. ( like a state inspector signs of on his inspection).
