For Panteras with marginal vacuum due to a radical cam, why not add an
aftermarket vacuum valve near the intake manifold end of the brake vacuum
hose.  This way you add the entire length of the hose and under floor tube
as a (free) vacuum reservoir.

The "banjo" fitting IS the check valve as well, although there's another
check valve built into the nose section of the booster (inaccessible unless
the booster is disassembled). Blow-by and heavy brake use (like downtown
traffic where you're constantly on & off the pedal) tends to suck blow-by
and oil
fumes into the vacuum line, and that rots the hoses and collects up in the
plastic check valve where it turns to varnish. Incidently, the banjo/check
valve simply pulls out of its grommet- vacuum is about all that holds it in
place. I've not had to clean one so dunno how difficult it is, but I'd bet
that check-valves are available new or rebuilt at any power-brake-overhaul
