[DeTomaso] Stack Filters and cool air

I thought you wanted to retain the look of the webers and the velocity
stacks?  I think it looks a little funky and it seems like you are taking
the long way around. What if you made a plexiglass air box (so you could
still see the stacks) and then use externalized filters to feed cool air to
the air box. Then you would have the look of the stacks and have a real cool
air feed instead of trying to insulate the air filters with a barrier. Heat
rises and having an isolating plenum that effectively insulates the heat
coming up from the engine you will need space shuttle tiles ( a slight
exaggeration) but I don't think your plan will have more then a nominal
effect on the intake air temp.
