On our '72-L, the Ducellier motors (both window motors and the headlight 
motor) are cylindrical and identical. All 3 still had the decals on. The 
headllight motor on our car was completely covered with some sort of 'dipping 
plastic' that had to be chipped off when I was tracing a wiring problem. But 
after 20 years, the gray plastic had become brittle, had a few cracks and came 
off in large chunks. No silicone found. FWIW- J Deryke
