Well, the two-page Detailed Tech Requirements which is published as part of
the 10-page event announcement in the POCA newsletter each year does a
pretty good job of spelling out exactly what (minor) things need to be done to
make a car track-ready. Really, they are things that should apply to ANY
car in any event--things like having your seat belts securely fastened in the
car, battery held down and terminals taped, wheels not falling off the car,
brakes that actually work, etc. :>)

But the car is only half the equasion (and arguably the less important
half). The most important component is YOU, the nut behind the wheel. :>)

Scott Griffith, our chief instructor, put together a *fantastic* open track
primer for the Nor-Cal Shelby club, which appears on their website here:

http://www.norcal-saac.org/ot/primer.pdf

For anybody who is considering entering the sport (and for that matter,
even for people who have been doing it for years), it is WELL worth reading in
detail.

Looking forward to seeing you on-track in 2010!

Mike
