Remember, if you install the halfshafts opposite to the factory (with the 
slightly heavier end outboard), the small diameter end passes by the exhaust 
pipes, giving more clearance. While this trick from the mid-'70s pre-dates 
my involvement with the Pantera, I do it to EVERY one I work on. Then worn 
shocks, old springs, bumpy roads etc don't cause any unexplained THUMPs from 
the rear end. FWIW- J Deryke
