[DeTomaso] headlights work but buckets to not raise up

There's a host of possibilities: the motor can be electrically 
disconnected, burned out or the plastic drive gear in the gearbox (identical to those in 
the window lifts) might be cracked, jamming the motor. The microswitches 
that limit travel can have dirty contacts, but the last time I ran into this, 
after going thru all the above, I found someone had attached the headlight 
motor power-out line to the wrong post on the console headlight switch. The 
schematic will not show the exact spade-lug to be used and not all years of 
Pantera headlights are wired identically. Best to find a similar year Pantera 
and duplicate their connections. 
There is an emergency headlight raising knob under the left-side top 
radiator shroud. About 15 minutes of laborious hand cranking will raise the 
lights. You will also find the knob is dangerously close to a knuckle-grater 
called the radiator core. And unless you are lucky, once they're up, switching on 
the ignition will instantly lower the lights... Good luck- J Deryke
