You are not locked into Vista if you want to use a 64 bit operating system.
Linux makes a 64 bit version and with their new ( relatively speaking)
graphical interface it is much easier and more familiar to use for those
used to windows then the old command line versions.. It is also vastly
supierior in many uses such as a server. i don't remember the exact numbers
but a modest system running Linix can handle many more clients in it's
server confoguration the an a comparably equipped windows computer. Best of
all Linux is free and with its open source code you can make changes ( if
you have the capability) and Like Mac operating systems you are not
subjected to the constatnt crashes. You can run a dual boot system if you
want to try out Linux while keeping Vista on your computer , you can even
run and boot from a cd if you want to try it out with out installing it on
your hard drive. I may have a 64 bit copy of one of the many versions of
Linux available and if you would like it I will send it to you or direct you
to a source to get a free copy if i can't find my copy.
