Unilite modules do fail once in a while. This is due to a coupple reasons.
The coil may overload the Ah capabilities of the unit, which is not a 
problem if
an ignitor modul is used, like the msd 6.
The unit could operate with very low voltage power supply without affecting
its triggering side, meaning that one can use a power supply resistor to 
protect
from to high voltage. Sorry that I dont remembeer what the resistance , but 
it
is dependent on the current draw from the unit which is quite low.

Therfore I dont recomend powerfull coils triggered directly from the 
unilite.
Use an intelligent ignition module.
