Hi guys,
The nominal deadline to sign up for the International De Tomaso meeting in
Austria/Italy is this coming Thursday. I just made my arrangements; so far
there are 28 Swedes attending, and supposedly around 15 Americans have signed up,
plus a half-dozen Brits, and a smattering of French, German, Austrian, and
etc. and so forth. Looks like a good time!
I think the whole tour bus thing fell apart, and good thing too in my view;
it's much more fun to rent (or borrow) a car and drive along with the group.
Although the formal program lasts only for a few days in Italy, informally
the event begins two days earlier at a beautiful little mountain resort in
Ellmau, Austria, and that's where most of the Eurodudes are converging, so that's
where I'm heading first too.
Anyway--who else is attending? POCA Secretary Jim Gray is the single-source
point of contact for American registrants--you send him your completed
application, and he collects the info and forwards it on to the tourist agency in
Modena that's making the hotel bookings etc.
The event hotel is the last of the seven on the list for Modena--the
Infinity/Le Cardinal.
If you elect to join the group in Austria (highly recommended), you'll have
to make your reservations directly with the Sporthotel Ellmau. Make sure you
tell them that you are wanting to join the De Tomaso group. They had 25
rooms already taken by the De Tomaso crew when I called this morning; now between
Geoff Peters and me, there are 27 rooms taken.
Hope to see some of you there?
I thought the event info was on the POCA website, but I can't see it in the
'events' section? I know the info was printed in the POCA newsletter a few
months back. If anybody needs me to send them the four-page PDF flyer, let me
know.
Wait--I just remembered how easy (and GREAT) the POCA website album is to
use. Okay, I just uploaded the event flyer and an update into my photo album:

When you click on the thumbnails (from the 2004 event), a new window will
open which will have a 'download document' option. Click that, and the files
(PDF and MS Word respectively) will download to your hard drive.
