I think the debate between using a Cleveland and Windsor
depends on what you have and what you are going to use
it for. My case was the Cleveland was already bored... walls
my guess were thin... the motor still runs but not a candidate for
a Race Motor... Clevelands do cost money to build.... there are
a lot more Windsor parts so the pricing is cheaper... there are
numerous Windsor engine builders vs Cleveland builders that
know what they are doing.
I have an after market Dart Block that is not too badly priced compared
to a Fontana or the Assie blocks or the special Cleveland race blocks
Oiling does not seem to be a problem on a Windsor...
Clevelands will work but need some special attention
I know guys that have run their Clevelands to 8000 rpm plus
in race conditions... and as a race built motor
Will if you have a nicely built Cleveland use it... take care
of it because until the recastings get plentiful it will be hard
to do another one.
