[DeTomaso] MUSTANG ROTORS - WAS: Which Loctite

I hate to muddy the waters on this often-discussed topic, but I converted several sets of two-piece Mustang rotors to the Pantera about 5-6 years ago and always found it necessary to enlarge the holes in the rotor to accept the Pantera 12 mm stud. The non-knurled part of the Pantera stud is 17 mm diameter, and the matching area of the 1965-67 Mustang 1/2 inch stud is about 16 mm. I bought a 17 mm drill bit and enlarged the holes in the Mustang disc, after separating it from the hub. In doing so, you can actually re-use the OEM Pantera hub/bearing piece. In having done this on several sets of USA and Chinese rotor/hub (two-piece) parts for 65-67 Mustangs, I found them all to have the same dimensions and enlarged the holes in disc to 17 mm to use the Pantera lugs. It sound like others have found a different approach.
Also double check with the vendors on the Wagner rotor/hub units. I found some parts with the Wagner number 60208 that turned out to be one-piece. Get them to send you a photo of the actual part you are purchasing. Good luck.
