I use a swinging-tip spanner #471 from J. H Williams. This type has a hinged
tip to accomodate several sizes of spanner-nuts from about 1" to about 1-3/4"
dia and fits the rack nuts well. There are others available. Before trying to
untighten the spanner-nut, be sure to use a timy flat-blade screwdriver to
lift up the staked area. Not lifting the staking will cause it to shear off,
destroying the locking in that area. And if you do and your luck is like mine,
that area is where the rebuilt rack-nut will want some staking....Good luck-J
