Bill,

Do you think it would be effective to daisy-chain a second ground wire
between all four minor gauges, and then to the chassis? In other words, three of
the four ground lugs on the gauges are fed by two wires; one of those wires on
one of those gauges is the ground end of the daisy chain, and is connected to
ground. The last gauge is the terminus of the daisy chain, and only has one
wire on its ground lug (connecting to the adjacent gauge). If a second wire
was added to that one also, with the other end going directly to a chassis
ground, then the daisy chain would be grounded at both ends, without the need to
hack and splice all over the place other than the one connector.

Wouldn't that be effective enough?

Mike (currently working in the garage, swapping 3W and 5W bulbs in and out of
the minor gauges to get 'even' illumination, because the ammeter doesn't
light up as much as the other gauges do, with bulbs of equal strength; the
solution is to have 3W bulbs in the other three, and a 5W bulb in the ammeter--see
the 'before' photo at: http://www.poca.com/index.php/gallery/?g2_itemId=4087).
