it looks to me like the same principle as the Electromotive system except instead of a crank trigger ( saw blade and magnetic pick up ) that they are using the dist gear drive to trigger the system.  personally if I was doing all this, the beauty of the system is doing away with the distributor hole and capping it for a cleaner look, however, this seems to also be about half the price of an Electromotive system and does away with mounting a crank trigger wheel and fabricating a pick up mount. So lots easier to install and cheaper...as good,,,remains to be seen.
 
Somebody try one and let us know.
