[DeTomaso] Tires and wheels

I run 17" Campy clones all around, with Kumho Exsta V700.

If you don't plan to drive the car in wet weather, the V700s are a
better performance tire than the Kunho Ecsta XS. I bought the set I
currently am running in 2004 - 245/40ZR17 front and 335/35ZR17 in the
rear. That tire and wheel combination gives a comfortable 0.8" down
bias to the front.

When I replace them I will have to go to the 315/35ZR/17 in the rear
since the 335s aren't available anymore. Mounted and balanced the new
set of tires will run around $950.

Without a question they are the best tire I've ever used on the
Pantera. Extreme grip, no noise, and ride like a dream. Yeah, they are
an "R" rated compound tire which will not get you a lot of mileage
(2,000 to 10,000 depending on your driving style and amount of track
use). But for the performance and ride quality, let alone the price, in
my book you can't beat them.
