Our cousins over in the UK have Avon 'VR' rated tires that would be perfect for the original Campy wheels.
Several sizes available 205/215//265275/295. You should be able to get these through a Avon dealer...perhaps Tire Rack?

IS THIS A CASE OF DEJA-VU?
In these uncertain times when every news bulletin reminds us of the financial difficulty the country is in, it is rare to hear a positive story about British manufacturing. However, Vintage Tyres bring us news of the increasing competitiveness of British made tyres.
You may not be aware that the classic ranges from Dunlop and Avon, (as well as some Waymaster tyres) are still produced in the UK, by the original manufacturers. This has always made these brands the ultimate choice for authenticity and quality, but as the pound weakens on the financial markets, they also become an increasingly attractive prospect in terms of price.
Dramatic differences in exchange rates between the pound and the dollar and euro mean that classic tyre ranges imported from outside the UK have seen massive price increases over the last few months.
Incredibly, following a slump in trade in 1922, and the growing threat from American made tyres, Dunlop fought back with "Be sure you're tyres are British, fit Dunlop and be satisfied"

It's never been a better time to buy British Classic tyres!
