I know the serial numbers were released out of order sometimes. But what is the highest one listed as a 71?   I have 1660 allegedly the 657th car after the first 3 were crash tested. Mine was Built in june 71. Michael in Savannah

Never heard that one. And no one outside of FOMOCO top management really 
knows more than an educated guess as to the correct numbers. I'd go with whatever 
Steve Wilkinson's best-guess was. But its pretty well known that most 
Ford-imported Panteras were of 1972 year-build and that 1970-1994, the total was 'less
