[DeTomaso] clutch effort - hydrovac

Slow on this list lately anyway ...

Been nosing around on the net and dreaming about ways to reduce the clutch
effort in a Pantera. I know Ron has applied the Mitsubishi 3000GT unit
successfully, but it involves some heavy mods on the pedal assembly. I
remember my old Studebaker Hawk used a remote vaccuum booster that was not
linked to the pedal mechanically, but used a remote vacuum diaphragm unit to
multiply pressure as fed to it from the standard master cyl. I gather it was
also used in some trucks and 50s chevys. I think the term is hydrovac and
I'm wondering if any intrepid Pantera owner has used a setup like this to
ease the clutch? It would only require mounting and hose connections and
wouldn't need to be linked to the clutch pedal.
