It wasn't the engine going, it was the clutch disc.  Tons of torque and wide sticky tires can get you

like this if you're immature enough to want to do this with a Vette.  This is usually a Mustang kinda stunt, but they spin the tires until they throw the tread and tear the body up.  At least it's an easy

replacement, 2 -3 hrs. if you know what you're doing.
