[DeTomaso] oil filter recommendations

As I understand JOMAR filters do not have a bypass, but non bypass filters are not good for cold starts with a heavy weight oil as the oil can initially be too viscous to pass through the filter. That is why most race engines usually have an oil preheat.

If you are that level of concern for your engine's well being and longevity then IMO an Accusump is mandatory and the best way to go for filtration is remote dual bypass filters, the odds of both clogging and bypassing is slim unless of course you are already approaching catastrophic failure.

On the Summit note, if anyone needs parts that are in stock at the Sparks store where they would incur excessive shipping & handling charges, if you make your purchase for local pick up, I would be willing to pick them up and ship for actual cost. Just bear in mind that local sales incur a 7.725% sales tax.
