Getting back to the original question...
I do recall seeing a story in P.I. about ten years ago.  That car was  
painted a conventional color and was owned by some private individual.  I'm  too 
busy trying to get my 1913 Model T to run, so I don't have time to sort  
through the back issues to find the article.  Anyway, the car did survive,  
but not in pink.
