This is from another forum that I am on (Park Trains) - if anyone is interested in gold leaf on their car - maybe race numbers?

To all those needing lettering, a friend of mine that lives in Texas, does mine. I will post a pic in the photo section of my tender. He does it in gold leaf, that applies like vynal. It is real gold leaf, looks fantastic. Plus he is very reasonable, as he is also into 16" gauge railroading. He can be reached at 940-580-0080 in Gunter Tx.

Not sure I believe the person I spoke to. There were three locomotives there at one time. A CPH set, a steam outline diesel locomotive which I thought was painted blue and called the Blue Comet, plus a decent sized Plymouth. As I understand it the airport has finally been sold so if anything is hidden away this might be a good time to approach someone with cash.

Some of these projects were exciting to be involved in---I made a ton of friends by doing what I could to complete the work. I will keep my eyes open for any detailed photos YOU may be able to use. Maybe in the spring I will take a few moments of your time to see the progress you are making--thank you for the offer. I was wondering if you will be able to run it on the Allaire Airport track that is still in place. The terminal station on Hurley Pond Road and the route seems to be in pretty good shape--or at least good enough to run on with some work. That would be a ready made place to enjoy the train when it is done.

> What ever happened to the train that did run out there?? Seems odd to sell a train without the track. I was looking around at the airport but I don't seem to find any photos of the train----I was wondering if it was being stored away in one of the buildings. Do you have any info about it??
