Will,
 
    Assuming your running XP, do a system restore immediately if you see something funny.  The steps are:
 
    Start
       All Programs
           Accessories
                System tools
                    System Restore
 
    Then select a recent restore point and run it.

I think I have picked up something on my computer. When I Google something and click on the  link, I'm sent to another site (usually a site to buy something). When I hit the backbutton and click on the link again, it takes me to the correct site. At first I thought I was hitting the wrong link, but it's happening quite often now.
Any suggestions?
