[DeTomaso] How many threads needed for lug nut engagement?

That seems reasonable.  Are most people buying long lug nut studs when they buy aluminum wheels from the vendors?

I think the SCCA rule book requires a minimum of 3/8" thread engagement. My
personal preference is to have at least the diameter of the lug thread for
engagement - i.e. 12mm X 1.5mm pitch would have at least 8 complete turns of
the nut before it starts to get snug.

I have a set of Wilkinson wheels and it looks like I get about 6 1/2 threads
of lug nut engagement at finger tight.  Is that OK, or are people buying
longer lug nuts for the after marker wheels?
