[DeTomaso] Two things questions

Thanks, Jim.

I had my engine bay done by Diamond Liners in Santa Fe Springs, CA.

(800) 543-1212 Google 'diamond liners' and it is the top hit.

I worked with the owner, John Bender. He advised against a colored
spray, in that the numerous small crevices and valleys would tend to
gather dirt and dust, which would be more noticeable on a colored
background instead of black. Cleaning is mostly with the California
Duster and the once or twice a year Simple Green scrub down. Cost was
about $500, and to say it has held up well would be a vast
understatement.

At the time - 2004 - it was a one-shop operation without any
franchising - so only done at his shop.

Next to the Metallic Titanium paint on 2511, the Diamond Liners
surface gets the most comments. I was parked next to Brent's car at
Concorso this year, and while his Line-X looks nice, it is not nearly
as striking as the Diamond Liners product.

I spoke recently with a Line-X vendor at a local Concours, and he said
he had the nozzles that could duplicate the fine pattern found on my
car, using his Line-X product. Don't know if that is true or not. I
doubt it would deliver the shine, though.

If I was doing a full restoration, I would likely also do the front
trunk in this spray, and have been considering getting the fiberglass
tub sprayed, too; both inside and out. Bare metal restoration and I'd
opt for full under-carriage coating.

YMMV

Larry
