FWIW, the industry recommendation of 'natural' life of a std lead-acid 
battery is 5 years with a max of about 7, depending on the phase of the moon and 
how you treated the battery you now have. To be safe, you should probably 
start looking around, and consider buying a Battery Tender® if you don't 
already own one. Thse are great for seldom-driven cars like Panteras. I did a 
pretty comprehensive article on popular lightweight batteries for Panteras in
