It's an interesting point.  I went into the garage and read the label on 
my can of Brake Clean.  It appears to have slightly different 
ingredients and doesn't make any mention of possible formation of 
phosgene.  I'll certainly be more aware though and be more cautious of 
product use.

Lately, I've actually been using Simple Green, and lots of it.  It's 
been doing a great job.  Last night, I took a console switch that looked 
rather dark, used Simple Green to clean it so all the white letters were 
nice and bright, and then  applied a coat of wax.  Darn thing looks 
almost new now.
