Just went thru this. Torque down manifold and check your timing. That was the cause of my problem. Idled at 1800 and carb idle carb adjustment was all the way out. Michael Shortt

when i start it in runs up to 3 k rpm within a few seconds so i turn it off, i guess it would redline?

how do I have time to spray when it over revs so quickly?

I read about that spay for leaks tests but should I let it rev that high on startup? If I knew it would stop at 3 or 4 k I guess that would be ok as a test.

Wouldnt I have to have a massive vac leak to cause car to over rev on start up?

Thanks
Clay
