Justin,

If you've got a late '74 you may have a different headlight relay that is
wired differently than the wiring schematic. See TSB Bulletin No. 14,
Article No. 117.

Subject: [DeTomaso] electrical help

i am finally getting close to getting my 74 GTS to run, so I put a battery
in and tried out the wiring -- some things actually worked!

big headlight problem - the headlight swtch properly works the parking and
head lights themselves, but the headlight motor puts them down when on, and
raises them when off (opposite what is supposed to happen). I am pretty
sure the problem is in the headlight relay, which was all messed up when I
got the car. Itried to rewire based on the wiring diagram schematic, but it
seems I crossed a wire. Any suggestions to fix this easily?

by the way, for those interested, I have some interesting things in this car
if it ever gets running. I am running chi 3v 185 heads and intake put
together with roller cam by dave storlein in MN. bored the stock 4 bolt
block .010 over to maximize cylinder wall and put the engine together
myself. a bunch of oiling mods from the guys over at cleveland engine
forum. i am using retrotek powerjection throttle body EFI - not too
expensive, and allows much easier tuning than carb. should run well if
nothing goes wrong. (redline synthetic ZF lube is already slowly oozing out
of trans and has never even been driven!) put together electronic fuel
injection system with a lot of advice from you guys.

Based on a lot of opinions on this forum, I put together what should be a
nice driving car - custom mufflers and monza dual glasspack tips which I
welded up and look super

aldan eagle coilovers

custom wilwood fronts and PBR rear brakes with integral parking brake (which
probably wont work all that well)

HOK paint job in my basement (still breathing the sanding dust)
