He said that the FAST computer was the way togo now adays.
the new fast system is supposed to be supierior.
G
Do we have any comparison speed numbers here?
B
The important factors are sequential injection vs batch
injection.
G
I don’t find sequential very important. I should say it is
has an advantage at low rpm for emission.
B
how many injectors it cam control.
G
I value powerful amplifiers that can handle low impedance
Injectors, then we get "high speed opening" of large
Injectors at low rpm short duration timing. But it doesn't
matter for standard hp engines.
B
Also lots of the Weber style EFI have the injectors and fuel
rails on the out side and thats supposed to be a no no.
G
Well, I think there is nothing really wrong with the idea.
Many things claimed is okay, the problem is HOW important
it is.
B
Another big factor is the injectors. Gary told me the Bosch were
far supierior.
G
Again, SUPERIOR, is a strong word. Obviously there are a lot
Injectors that works okay. In all these sort of statements I like
to hear the difference specified.
B
Many of the systems are designed as EFI for dummies. No
fuel return, no computer pprogram adjustmment neccesary.
G
A "stand alone" system that is open for programming is good.
Fuel return is good, at least for a high output engine that
must have an overcapacity of fuel circulating at low rpm:s.
B
It seems to me if your going to bite the bulet for $6500.00 +
you may as well do it right or just go with a holley commander
for around $2000.00.
G
Absolutly, always best to it right from the very beginning.

I guess a big advantage o EFI is the liberty to design the intake
manifold freely. That in turn could give an advantage to deliver
some better power curve or top. Injectors may be positioned in
a number of different positions, for best effect.

Then IGNITION timing, not to forget, that is part of most ECU:s
today is an Important POWER factor as well as idling-lowspeed and
fire up factor. Can also be used as "timing retard" at the strip.
ALL in the same ECU.
