Yes- if you're really sure its the tach and not the feed wire from the 
distributor or its connections. The tach, once opened up by prying the 
bezel-ring off, is only a small circuit board that has a few precision components on 
it, and occasionally one goes bad. But check your assembly first- maybe by 
borrowing a known-good unit, or taking your tach to another owner and 
plugging it into his car. Doesn't even have to be mounted in his dash, just have 
the wires connected. If the problem persists, its obviously the tach. Note the
