Whenever this comes up, I always suggest buying one of the excellent 
fiberglas replica hoods now available. They are relatively cheap, a few pounds 
lighter, the hibachi grilles can be added just like to a metal hood but are 
easier to cut evenly, and your valuable OEM hood can be stored for when your 
tastes change, or you can sell it when you need an extra $1000 or so. A cut 
steel hood is generally worth nothing. FWIW- J Deryke
