[DeTomaso] Campy “Powder Coat” Code Needed

When I had my highly polished Wilkinson Campy clones powder coated (the shop
thought I was crazy for "ruining" a nice high polish) they used a two step
process. The argent silver was a liquid paint which was followed by a clear
powder coat. The results were stunning, the best looking Campy clones I have
ever seen, and were a true metalflake silver, not the least bit "gray" as I
have seen on some other powder coated wheels. The shop that did the work
does nothing BUT powder coat wheels (both custom and stock restoration), any
color you want, including clear over polished aluminum. Interesting enough,
when I took my stock Campys over to them to have the same thing done, they
refused to touch them because they were magnesium. Go figure. I ended up
taking the mag wheels to Keystone Wheels (yes, THAT Keystone) here in
Minneapolis, who also offer refinishing of wheels, at a slightly higher cost
than the first place.
