Also, magnesium has a tendancy to out-gas anyway.   Sometimes powdercoating 
Pantera wheels fails because after the paint is sprayed on, when the wheels 
go into the oven, gasses trapped deep inside the pores of the wheel expand 
under the paint, lifting it and ruining it.

For that reason, instead of having my wheels powdercoated, a couple of 
years go I treated them to a first-class paint job at a body shop.   My 10-inch 
wheels were made in 1989, and the finish was a bit more spiffy than that 
applied by the factory in the 1970s, but not garish by any means.   It had just 
a tiny bit of metal flake in it.

I was able to perfectly match it to a GM silver.   Here's my typically long

it) with the paint code etc.
