The glass pushes out of the inner gasket just like the window assembly did
out of the body. And if you wetted or WD-40'd the gasket to put it back, it
really does just push in. You might have to fiddle with the lower corner
to get the gasket to lay flat inside the body opening, but there's really no
other trick. There's no real in or out aero-forces involved in that area, so
it seems secure as the factory designed- ours was pulled & replaced
nearly 20 years ago with no problems yet. Replacing a lost one will certainly
wreck your day if not your budget! But the only ones I've heard being lost are
those with air-scoops attached to unsecured frames, at 150 mph and above
when they actually start to scoop air. But if it bothers you, a couple of
flathead sheet metal screws or pop-rivits thru the chrome trim into the door
frames (invisible when the door's are closed) will mechanically retain the front
edge of the assemblies. Good luck- J Deryke
