[DeTomaso] zf 5th gear

All gears are in good shape and work fine so why do you think OR what will make it jump out of 5th gear? I can hold it in gear. it always moved into gear under gas and moved out if you back off the gas but never jump out. but on a 2 hr road trip it went from jumping out one time?(at the half way mark) to all the time. It also always had a howl in 5th rear.?what do you think it may be and what is the fix??
