Actually, it was a Ghia design but the chassis were built at the Vignale 
works.   De Tomaso owned both companies at the time, and Ford bought them from 
De Tomaso.   After the Pantera program fizzled out, Ford shut down Vignale 
in 1974, but kept Ghia (which is alive and well to this day, making concepts 
and designs for Ford).
