In 1983, my brother and I drove to Spokane Washington for our sisters
wedding. We had been in town for over a week and during that time period,
we had been pulled over three times. We never received a citation but we
were grilled for 10-15 minutes each time. "Why are you up here, if you are
here for a wedding, where is your luggage?"
We figured out the blue and yellow California license plates, an 18 year old
driver and 14 year old navigator (me) raised a few red flags.
Spokane was beautiful but the local law needed to get a life and respond to
some calls for service or eat a dough nut and drink some coffee.
