[DeTomaso] Fwd: OT! Temporary tags at Silver State Classic Challenge!

You do not have to change your drivers license to register a car in another
state. Many people have multiple residences. You can't switch your drivers
license every time you go from one house to the other IE. summer house, ski
cabin etc. Most states require you to register the car in the state you plan
on keeping it in. I prefaced my comments by saying you would need a friend
or someone who owned a home in Nevada to give you an address to use . I
specifically said "If they would say you rent a room" all you need as proof
of address is usually a lease or a piece of mail like a credit card bill
which is very easy to get if you actually have an address to use. I
mentioned several times the importance of being able to substantiate your
claim of some form of residential status even if it is only temporary.
Obviously the easiest thing to do is just pay your taxes and registration
fees at your own home of record.
