If you get pulled over and you don't already have your windows down then you are a dumb ass ;-]>....And if you live just about anywhere  in the Southwest where folks reoutinly see 100+ temp days through 6 months out of thear tinted glass is not a luxury its a necessity. 

I've got maybe half a dozen 'fix-it" tickets....which is always better then a moving violation. I'll pay the fine, get the fix it ticket signed off by a friend and continue driving with the same tinted glass,  still no front license plate and as long as there is no rain, no windshield wipers.....and if I have to move to Nevada I'll do that too...interestingly I have never got a fix it ticket in Nevada!

The cops are your friends and they understand Civil Disobedience....Just roll your windows down, keep your hands on the steering wheel and smile allot....that works for me.

I also wonder about the darker shaded windows they mention as being part of 
the overall reduced heat absorbtion, which will be opposed by police 
everywhere. As one cop-friend said,'I get nervous when I walk up to a car and 
can't see thru the windows...' And of course, a law is already on the CA books 
regulating the darkness of windows. Don't CA legislaters ever TALK to the 
people affected? Oh, yeah- that's yet another reason I no longer live there...
