It's a worthless piece o' crap Robert!  I'll give you $5,000 for it right now!   :D

Seriously, don't lose heart!  We've all been there. Where are you located?  Maybe some of
us are near by and can come over and lend a hand.

Did you pull multiple plug wires while changing those plugs?  Double check that they're all
back on the right plugs - Ford cylinder numbering is different from Chevy (if you're a former
Chevy-man).

351C firing order: 1, 3, 7, 2, 6, 5, 4, 8

Also, does the car have an electronic ignition of the original dual point distributor?  I had
the exact same chug, chug symptoms when my car had the original dual point distributor
because I checked the point gaps and managed to drag the tiniest bit of grease from the
distributor cam through one of the points - ran like crap when I finished.  As a matter of
fact, I did this several times while trying to reach over the engine to check the darn things,
and didn't realize I had done it either time until I had buttoned everything up and tried to
start it. Just a thought.

Also, be sure you're using a FelPro gasket for your carburetor. I've found that some of the
Holley gaskets (and various parts store gaskets) do not adequately seal the carb base,
resulting in a vacuum leak and poor running conditions, but not quite chugging like you
describe.

Good luck!

Hello again from the newcomer .

I am totally frustrated with the car now. Heres the latest. Last night I
opened the carb to clean the jets, floats ,fuel lines etc,Pulled a spark plug and
saw that it was as black as the ace of spades. I changed all plugs ,remounted
the carb after thorough cleaning.
Went to start the car and thought she would
purr.Instead.....chug,chug...chug...remove my foot from the gas peddle and she shut down.tried adjusting
idle, mixture screws on the magnificent 4779-7(750cfm) holley.Went to start her up
again....same thing...chug...chug....chug.....stall...i pushed her back into
the garage and tonight I am going to change mounting gasket per holley the
gasket should be an open square instead of four circles.I will also as per
holley adjust the idle screws to all the way in and then back out only 1/2
turn.My fingers are crossed that this will cure all of these headaches.
I am still open for all suggestions. I will try anything at this point .
