[DeTomaso] Decklid shocks

Is it ok to cruise with only one decklid shock installed? (I currently have my driver's side shock removed.) Or, should I remove the other shock as well (so as to balance support for the decklid)?

The last thing I want to do is twist or warp the decklid. I plan on giving my Pante a good carbon cleaning through the mountains tomorrow ...
