Absolutly right on regarding tires and liability issues.
AJ and I tried to work a waiver after tech for Scott because we were and are confident Scott would not exceed tech. But as head of Tech explained tome earlier there is just too much at stake.

You're exactly right Charles. This has been a bit of a contested
area, however the rule book clearly states you need to have tires with
a rating no less than what it came stock with. Scott and I looked it
up later this afternoon.
There -have- been some waivers approved in the past, but that time is
now over. There are too many liability issues, the event has been
around for a while and there is amble opportunity to ask questions
beforehand.
Now with that said, Scott did come in to some mis information which is
why he came with the H rated rubber on the back. Scott was very
disappointed to fail tech, especially after having been to the rookie
school and tech in Las Vegas. However, in LV they did officially
"tech" the tires, so Scott had to make the drive here to have them
checked. Had Scott known in LV the tires would fail tech, he would
have had a better opportunity to fix the problem.
As it is, Scott will be heading home tomorrow morning, unless some
wheels and tires magically appear. I wish there was something I could
do, but short of driving some 10 hours to and from Reno to pick up a
set from Larry Stock, I can't do anything. I do it, but I've already
been up a long time and need to be up and around tomorrow, here in Ely.
If anyone else can transport a set of wheels and tires from Larry in
Reno, to us in Ely by tomorrow, we can still get Scott tech'd, but
right now his plan is to head home.
So put the word out. A Pantera entered in this even is required to
have a minimum of V rated tires. Although waivers have been
petitioned and approved in the past, that will no longer be the case.
We need to adhere to and play by the rules, it's for everybodies safety.
