thanks to everyone who contributed their ideas, thoughts , and experiences
on this subject matter. Your contributions were greatly appreciated I have
a related question for those of you willing to relate your thoughts or
actual experiences. I was wondering how a throttle body that is comprised of
a four barrel design might compare to Weber styled one throttle body per
cylinder designs. I saw a product manufactured by Holley called the 950
commander. It allows the user to facilitate 2x4 throttle body efi ( like
two 4 barrels )
Part of my goal is based on the looks of the "Weber style" with either
Weber's or "Weber style efi's with velocity stacks. I think it's the coolest
looking set up going ( or not going but just parked!) but based on cost and
more importantly maximum flow and fuel delivery i was wondering how this
would compare and I was wondering if any group members had any experience
with this type of setup. I remember when I was a teenager and gas was cheap
the hottest set ups ( excluding superchargers) were six packs or for a real
kick in the ass two 4 barrels. Logic would suggest that the efi based on a
two 4 barrel manifold would net similar increase in HP. I am not a mechanic
or engineer so there is a distinct possibility that my "logical assumption"
is totally out to lunch. Any body with real world experience or just their
two cents worth of opinion not necessarily based on scientific principals
care to sound off please be my guest.
