[DeTomaso] Troubleshooting Carb

     My stock engine seemed sluggish at low rpm,  intermittently, but most 
of the time.  I checked the adjustment of the idle mixture screws,  they 
were 3 full turns open so I set them at 1.5 turns.  The car seems to run 
better now except that it pops a lot while decelerating.  Hmmmm?  If I was 
leaning the mixture,  I would not expect it to start popping like that.  The 
carb may be the original though it looks like it has been boiled out.  The 
idle mixture screws don't richen the mixture when you screw them in on these 
carbs do they?  Any thoughts on solving this problem?
