In Georgia, in the SE USA for that matter, rumble strips like those series
of tar 100 yards, 50 yards and 25 yards before a stop sign, usually out in
the country at unlighted intersections.

We call the bumps on race track corners Curbs or Gators ( because they look
like alligators when they are swimming.

All the F1 guys fly over those things, sometimes they really fly over them,
I always used some of them as apex points on tight turns because in Sport
Racers you can't see the ground/track edge that close because of the body
work.
You just learn to feel the slight bump and if they are freshly painted,
sometimes at the end of a session, that paint may be on the sidewalls just a
touch.
Thankfully they have gotten smaller and more car friendly over the years.
