[DeTomaso] Road America Video

The yellow 'vibreur' you mentioned are called rumble strips in the US. They
are a sensory warning that you're about to run out of pavement. Sometimes
they are relatively smooth and other times they are very rough like these.
The 360 driver is consistently all over the rumble strips - which can't be
good for his suspension or lap times.

I agree that DQ seems to be pushing the car fairly hard in the corners. You
can sometimes see the P-car squirming around just at the edge of traction.
I don't think he's coasting through the turns.

Hi Kjetil, Hi all,
You think Dennis is holding back in the turns ?
Well, I don't share your opinion, look at the video around second 58 or so,
Dennis is almost out, oversteering , and it's a fast curve. I think he is
flat out wherever he can, while respecting his car at all time. What does Mad
dog think ? Dawg ?
None of the drivers are respecting the apex very properly, and the Ferrari
driver likes to jump on the "vibreurs" in then turns ( How do you say
"vibreur"... ? ) not the cleanest drive.... On the contrary, Dennis respects
the turns and drives very cleanly, which is good. Indeed, with a Pantera vs.
a "modern car ", hitting the vibreurs aggressively ( especially some of
those, which are very nasty ) damages your a arms , tyres, shocks, steering
and bushings, and will not give you a better lap time.
I've been practicing against 360s very often in Spa, and while they are much
slower than Candy or Andy in the straights, they are way better in braking.
It is very disappointing and frustrating. But may be Guy or Greg Trigaux
have another opinion ( Guy, wake up please :>))
I still wonder what happens to the Pantera at the end, when the Ferrari
passes it.... It seems that the Pantera is stopped in the traffic.... while
it should be back in the straights thereafter.
Good w e to all.
Pat

Is the cornering capabilities really that different between Dennis
Pantera, and the 360 challenge?
I do not think so. To me it seems like Dennis is holding back in the
turns. There is no signs that he is driving even close to the limits
On the contrary the Ferrari driver is right on the edge several times,
before he looses it in the end of the video.
Same thing with braking, it seems like Dennis likes to play it safe,
while the Ferrari driver catches up with him no matter the distance on
the straights.
