Kaase won with a Ford 400 based entry with ported CHI heads
and matching single plane 351M/400 intake manifold. Entrants
were restricted to 10.5:1 compression, flat tappet cams and
stock bore/stroke ratios. Power was averaged between 2500
and 6500 RPM and factored by displacement. Details are on
the PHR EMC website.

Other finalists with a Ford 400 based entry included the
School of Automotive Machinists (placed 4th) and Scott Main
of MPG Heads (placed 6th). MME (the engine builder that
Chris Lewis is having trouble with) also brought a Ford
400 with CHI induction but finished just out of the finals.

CHI has recently introduced two more versions of there 3V
heads with Kaase porting. IIRC, cost is $3400 and they
flow 400+ CFM at high lift.

Kaase had a second entry ("Almost Kaase") based upon a
Boss 429 with Kaase's new Boss heads that came in 3rd.
Tony Bischoff came in second with a 400 Chevy and another
team came in 5th with a 302 Chevy.
