Reggie Jackson was a serious Chevy muscle car collector during and after his
baseball days.

I had heardsomewhere that Reggie Jackson actually had quite a business at
one point buying cars, getting the titled in his name, and then turning them
as "Reggie Jackson owned cars" - with 6 figure premiums...not sure how much
his name commands these days, but...

Well, that is almost assuredly true, but within the context of his design
company and the partnership he has with HST.

>Of course the new owner will most likely fight till the death that this is
actually Tom's ex-car to protect his investment with the BJ documentation
adding continued life to the misrepresentation. Who could blame him. I'm not
litigious in nature; but, in this instance, I'd be calling the lawyers had I
been the buyer.

>>>It is almost assuredly technically true that he owned it (his name was
probably on the title in order for BJ to make that claim), but not in the
same
sense that you or I own our cars. He felt a desire to update a Pantera's
styling somewhat (and keep the Tjaarda name in the public eye), and that
required
him to have a Pantera as a canvas, hence his purchase a few months ago.
Job
done, car sold.

I wouldn't characterize BJ as misrepresenting the car, exactly.
Technically
their claim of his ownership is true, but only from a corporate perspective.

He told me they only owned it for few months, just long enough to restyle it

and then promote it; in fact it was the 'star' car of the BJ Las Vegas
auction, and BJ used him and the car to promote the auction at various
events
leading up to it, including Concorso Italiano and the Monterey Historic
Races.
